A - Attendance: Please call the Grey Cloud Attendance Line to report an absence. (651)425-4206
B - Birthdays: In leau of treats, you may choose to donate a book to our class "Birthday Basket" dedicated to your child. The "Birthday Basket" will be enjoyed for years to come! A note explaining this will be sent home a week before your child's birthday or half birthday.
B - Book Orders: Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home. Please send checks made out to Scholastic books.
C - Communicator Calendars: Each month you will receive a communicator calendar. Every student has the opportunity to earn a daily stamp based on their ability to practice SOARING. This log will have a stamp if your child has had a successful day, or a note that explains the area of difficulty. Please sign every weekend.
D - Daily Snacks: Students are allowed to bring a daily snack. PLEASE BE AWARE OF OUR CLASSROOM PEANUT ALLERGIES. A LETTER WAS SENT HOME WITH SNACK SUGGESTIONS Healthy snacks (fruits, cheese sticks, veggies) are highly encouraged!
E - Emergency Numbers: If you need to get an urgent message to me during the school day, please call the GCE office (651)425-4200.
F - Fall Conferences: Fall conferences are November 5th and 8th . Conferences will last for 15 minutes and will be held in the classroom. Please arrive promptly at your scheduled time.
G - Grading - This year 3rd grade will be moving to standards based reporting! Please be patient and give us grace as we learning too!!
H - Homework: Student homework for 3rd grade will be assignments that did not get completed in school. If by chance your child has finished everything in school (which should be MOST days) the DAILY assignment is to read for 20+ minutes and play math games/practice facts for 10. Missing/late assignments will be recorded on the Communicator Calendar. Please sign every weekend and return it to school on Monday.
I - Independence: Your child is becoming more independent. Please encourage your child to take responsibility for homework and nightly reading. They should put their own name on their assignments;)
J - Join in! All students are encouraged to actively participate in group discussions. Every voice should be heard and all opinions are valuable!
K - Kindness: The number one rule in the classroom is to be kind and respectful! Encourage your child to practice Random Acts of Kindness on a regular basis!!
L - Library: Our class will have book check out on Day 1 . Please return books on time! Students are encouraged to check out at least one "Just Right" Book!
M - Math: Students are expected to practice math independently for 10+ minutes per night. - It is our daily math homework assignment.
N - Newsletter: You will find classroom information on our webpage linked through the Grey Cloud homepage as well as through email, Seesaw and notes.

O - Organization: Using the student planner and communication folder will not only help your child be more organized, but will give you an idea of what he/she is doing each day. Please look through them daily. Items in the take home pocket may be kept at home, items inside the homework folder should be completed and returned to school.
P - Parties: Students will participate in Gingerbread House Party and a Valentine's Party! Students will also earn class parties for good behavior. If you would like to volunteer or donate items for these parties, please let me know!

R - Reading: Students are expected to read for 20+ minutes per night. However, don't forget that 3rd graders still like to be read to! - it is our daily reading homework assignment.
S - School Hours: Grey Cloud opens at 8:30 . We will begin our day at 8:40. Please do your best to get your child to school on time. Third graders are dismissed by 3:10.
T - Team: It is so important to every child's success that we work together as a team!
U - Understanding: Please remember that I have children of my own! I am very understanding of school difficulties, distractions and dilemmas!
V - Volunteers: I love volunteers! Please let me know if you are available in any way. We will go on field trips this year and I will be looking for chaperones as well!
W - Wish List: Teachers always have a wish list! IF you are able to donate items, please let me know and I will share some ideas!
X - I am eXcited to work with Y -YOU and Your child this year! Make sure he/she gets plenty of .... Z - zzzzzz's each night as we have exciting, busy days planned this year!
